What does OFDD do?

  1. We work to help all our faculty succeed and be happy at UCI
     
  2. We lead School-wide conversations about school structures and processes to uncover where underrepresented faculty are disadvantaged, and encourage new ways of doing things
     
  3. We create regular opportunities for connection, collaboration and professional development
     
  4. We foster a school culture that:
    • actively welcomes and supports new faculty
    • understands the cultivation of success—especially for early career and URM faculty—as a collective responsibility
    • recognizes all faculty’s unique strengths and equitably rewards contributions to our research, teaching and service missions
    • believes efforts at greater diversity and equity are worth it
